Bulletin Board/Literature Display Policy

For the Spring Green Community Library

Adopted by the Library Board, January 19, 1999, revised May 11, 2004, revised May 10, 2016

First priority will be given to notices for the Spring Green Community Library, followed by announcements for local community events. The library’s exhibit space is open to organizations engaged in educational, cultural, intellectual, or charitable activities. The Library does not evaluate the beliefs or purposes of the sponsoring parties, and providing space for distribution of this literature does not imply endorsement by the Library of any group, their ideas or programs. General or educational notices may be posted or displayed as space permits for a period not to exceed 4 weeks.

The library will not display posters, petitions, or notices for any political parties, candidates or those advocating a position on an issue.

Acceptable public literature is received and shelved on a first come, first-served basis, and the Spring Green Community Library reserves the right to remove or discard materials when space is not available in the designated location. Materials larger than a standard 8 ½” by 11” sheet of paper will only be posted if space is available.

All bulletin board notices must be stamped with the Spring Green Community Library stamp prior to posting. Any unstamped notices will be removed.

At the time a notice is stamped, a date for removal will be affixed to the posting.
