AUTHOR VISIT WITH DEAN ROBBINS & GUEST JOHN HEASLEY

Local children's book author, Dean Robbins, explores what it means to be a hero through the use of brave historical figures like Susan B. Anthony, Frederick Douglass, Alice Paul, Margaret Hamilton and Alan Bean. Robbins will share his newest book, The Astronaut Who Painted the Moon: The True Story of Alan Bean, celebrating the only artist to travel in outer space. He will also delve into the secrets of being a writer and putting together a book.

Co-sponsor, Arcadia Books will have copies of Robbins’ books for purchase and signing! John Heasley, NASA Ambassador and owner of Driftless Stargazing, LLC, will also be on hand with entertaining space-related activities! This family friendly event is great for all ages, especially K-5.

This program is possible thanks to a grant from the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium to help make 2019 the year of space at the library!
