We have an opening on the Library Board of Trustees!
If you’ve ever wondered how you can contribute positively to the library, this is a great opportunity. A trustee is part of the decision-making team that governs operations and promotes the development of the local library. Qualifications include a commitment to library services in the community and a willingness to become familiar with Wisconsin library law, standards for libraries, and principles and practices for ensuring equitable access to community members. Trustees are appointed by the Village Board for a three-year term and should be able to attend monthly board meetings. More information is available at www.springgreenlibrary.org/library-board. Please send a brief letter stating your interest and background to firstname.lastname@example.org or to Carrie Portz Spring Green Community Library 230 East Monroe St. Spring Green, WI 53588.
About the Library Board of Trustees
The Spring Green Community Library is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees. The Board's authority to oversee the policies and direction of the Library is derived from Chapter 43 of Wisconsin statutes. The Library Board works in conjunction with the library director to plan, fund, and implement public library service in Spring Green.
The Library Board meets in the Community Room of the Spring Green Community Library, generally on the second Tuesday of the month, at 5 PM. In November and December, the meeting is held on the first Tuesday of the month.
Library Board agendas are posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting at the Spring Green Post Office, BMO Harris Bank, Spring Green Community Library, and below. Meeting minutes are added after their approval at the following meeting.
